Barkby Meadows secure dog fields are based in Barkby Thorpe, near Syston, a short drive from Leicester City Centre.
With beautiful views of Bradgate Park, our two fields, comprising of close to 6 acres, provide a private and secure location for recall and agility training, first time outdoor experiences or just letting you and your dogs run free.
Comprising of a safe flat grass surface, our primary 5 acre field is fully secured by 6ft deer fencing. With a perimeter walk of over a 1000 steps, this space is perfect for larger or high energy dogs that love to run free and owners wanting to get their steps in.
Our fully enclosed small field, with 6ft secure deer fencing, comes to a little over 1 acre. Containing a range of play equipment, this field is best suited for dogs requiring agility training, small dogs for first time outdoor experiences and older dogs and owners who may not want to move too far.
Our new Orchard Meadow offers a 3 ½ acre secure space, separate to our other two Meadows but with the same high quality, secure 6ft deer fencing. Ideal for reactive or anxious dogs, this field provides a more secluded environment, whilst offering a variety of equipment and plenty of room to run free.
We endeavour to make your visit as easy as possible and have provided the following items for use when in the dog fields. If you have any other ideas or innovations on how to improve the site further please let us know!
We have shelters with seating for you to stay dry if the weather turns from sunshine to rain.
Dogs got a bit messy? We have a dog wash on site and drinking water available for all dogs.
There is agility equipment, dog toys and training aids available for both fields if you forget your own.
Bins and poo bags are provided on site for helping to get rid of any dog mess.
Ensure you are ok with our terms, conditions and field rules, then book online using the form below.
When you arrive on site, enter the code for access, drive into your chosen meadow and park, when vacant.
Have fun letting your dogs loose, exploring the fields, using the equipment and enjoying the views.
Once finished, ensure you deposit any mess in the bins provided and exit the site by entering the gate code.

Gate code emails are set to arrive 15 hours and 1 hour before your start time.
If you are booking with less than 30 mins before your start time, you may need to contact us for gate code.
Text messages are soley used to provide you with a gate code via text, if you choose it.
Barkby Meadows do not profit from their use and no marketing or other information is sent via the text service.
